CRASH series
For my series CRASH, I work with found photographs of devastating crash scenes (I worked as a photo editor at the New York Times from 1998 - 2011), collaging and redrawing them repeatedly. Through this process, the harsh lines of twisted metal evolve into softer, organic forms. The series explores themes of control and transformation, reinterpreting real events to create a whimsical yet unsettling new reality.
